I met Jun while serving in the Republic of Korea Army together. His story was unlike any other: He was born and raised in Ukraine, and as an adult, he headed back to Korea to pursue his music career. Our promise to collaborate led us to this project.

Jun told me the act of crossing the road was a metaphor for leaving the past behind and heading towards the future; no matter how uncertain the future may be, we must move forward. From there, I let my imagination loose and built this colorful world full of eccentric characters, all centered around a crosswalk light and the concept of past, present, and future.

A few months after our discharge, we gathered a group of actors and fellow filmmakers we met in the Army and created our cast and crew for "Under The Crosswalk Lights." I hope the viewer's experience is as magical as it was for us to produce it.
